A new step
13th-Jul-2010 11:55 am
Lately I determined to spend more time on worthwhile things. After successfully applied an ideal job, I feel more confident indeed. Although I clearly know a person cannot be valued by his/her job, I still need a good job to prove my ability to myself. That's not right, my brain said, but my heart loves this feeling yet. Anyway, it's no shame to admit one needs approval, only if I can balance my heart in adversity.

For this purpose, I applied for the writer of TEDtoChina.com and passed the trail writing. I will try to make it a long-term commitment. I believe sharing inspiring ideas with others would be an inspiring job, too. For myself, I can also learn a lot during the writing. The background of the speaker, the fascinating thing they have done, the art they created...those outstanding teammates might teach me something as well. I think it will be a funny and meaningful experience.

Guess what, I just got a new job yesterday, too! :D Are you on LinkedIn? Now that you work in IT, I should connect with you on LinkedIn (if you use it).

Congratulations! Do you live in Australia still? I've registered Linkedln but seldom check it. My account is lilimarleen[at]gmail.com. Do ITers use Linkedln a lot?

Yeh I'm still in Australia. It seems that LinkedIn doesn't allow searching by email address, only by name. I tried 2 names (Lili M... and your chn name) and they didn't work. So what is your name on LinkedIn?!

A lot of IT people (in fact people in other industries as well) use LinkedIn. It's a good way to keep track of your professional contacts, especially colleagues and business partners who you don't want to share your blog or facebook with, but want to keep in touch for career reasons. Lot of people have found jobs on LinkedIn, too.

My name is Lili Wu, actually I forgot it and signed up to check...

I've heard Linkedln is widely use in career area, but only few people use it in China. It's an English platform after all. In fact many people use 开心网 as the platforom of sharing things with colleagues.
